150 Years of Empowering Lives: Seescape
Seescapes was originally formed as Fife Society for the Blind over 150 years ago. It has been dedicated to serving those living with visual impairment in Fife giving them the information, skills, and confidence they need to thrive.
Promoting Independence: Skills Development
Seescapes Sight Support Team help develop the skills and techniques that will assist people with visual impairment to live independently in their own home. Seescapes works on an individual basis, to boost client independence through training in living skills and assistive aids. The Seescapes team also works alongside partner organisations who can offer demonstrations of a wide range of electronic aids for individuals at home and workplace. This includes specialist computer software.
Seescapes is focused on staying ahead of emerging technologies and accessible applications, providing hands-on training and expert guidance tailored to the unique needs and goals of each individual.
Building Futures: Internship Programme
A nine-month Internship Programme has been designed to give individuals with visual impairment tailored support and potential career development, So that they can offer assistance to the charity’s new clients who are experiencing the challenge of potential sight deterioration or loss.
This internship presents a significant opportunity for individuals to transition into a full-time rehab officer role, with the potential for the successful candidate to pursue studies at Glasgow Caledonian University.
Supporting Self-Sufficiency: The £9,924 Grant
The Hospital Saturday Fund presented a grant of £9,924 to Seescape. This grant supports this innovative charity, Seescapes, to help individuals that are visually impaired to live and complete day-to-day tasks by themselves in their workplace.
