About Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People
The QEF Care and Rehabilitation Centre is part of Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People (QEF), a national charity founded in 1934 by Dame Georgiana Buller and Stanley Evans. With over 85 years of experience in supporting individuals with disabilities, QEF offers a wide range of services, including neuro-rehabilitation, assistive technology, and mobility support. By providing practical and life-changing assistance, QEF empowers disabled people to achieve their full potential and live more independently. The charity continues to innovate and expand its programmes, ensuring that it meets the evolving needs of the disabled community.
Activities in Rehabilitation
The QEF Care and Rehabilitation Centre (CRC) is a dedicated facility providing care for individuals of all ages living with disabilities. Whether their condition is congenital, acquired through illness, or the result of an accident, the centre offers a supportive environment for rehabilitation.
At the heart of the centre is the Activities Programme, a cornerstone of rehabilitation that fosters creativity, social interaction, and overall well-being. Through art, music, and community engagement, patients experience a transformative impact on their recovery process. However, this invaluable programme relies entirely on charitable donations to continue its essential work.
Transforming Lives
The impact of the QEF Care and Rehabilitation Centre on the lives of its patients is undeniable. With an average patient stay of 12 weeks, the centre has significantly improved the lives of individuals living with disabilities. Residents have shown remarkable progress in areas such as mobility, independence, and self-esteem. The centre’s holistic approach to care, which includes physical, emotional, and social support, has been instrumental in helping patients regain confidence and reintegrate into their communities.
