About BUMBLEance
BUMBLEance is the Children’s Ambulance Service of Ireland providing safe and comfortable transportation for Ireland’s youngest patients as they travel between their homes and hospitals, hospices, treatment centres, and respite centres nationwide. At BUMBLEance, they know how stressful it is to transport an unwell child, BUMBLEance is with families every step of the way, with the comfort and safety of the children as their number one priority.
More Than an Ambulance
The BUMBLEance service is a groundbreaking initiative, pioneering a new standard of care for young patients in Ireland. Beyond the essential medical equipment found in traditional ambulances, BUMBLEance vehicles are thoughtfully designed to create a comforting and stimulating environment for children.
With a focus on distraction, comfort, and entertainment, BUMBLEance transforms often stressful journeys into experiences that reduce anxiety and promote healing. BUMBLEance is dedicated to the well-being of Ireland’s most vulnerable citizens. We provide essential transportation to and from medical facilities nationwide, ensuring that every child receives the highest level of care and support.
Expanding Services
After a decade of consistent growth in demand for their services, BUMBLEance is currently on a comprehensive re-evaluation of its operations with a focus on future expansion and development. Recognising the increasing need for their services, BUMBLEance aims to build upon their existing foundation of providing entirely free, child-centred, and accessible healthcare transportation.
Very soon, BUMBLEance will provide a service that will offer opportunities for indirect play therapy, sensory accommodations within their vehicles, and adaptations to increase their ability to support individuals with a wide variety of conditions.
The Grant
The Hospital Saturday Fund presented a grant of €3,000 to BUMBLEance. This will contribute to broadening their healthcare ecosystem by offering not only transportation but also additional support and services that complement the medical treatment received.
