Update
We were delighted to receive the following update:
HSF very generously provided funding for staff reflective practice groups which were launched in September 2019. These groups were designed to improve support for the emotional wellbeing of staff and enable them to better cope with issues surrounding the increasing complex needs and mortality of students. Specific groups for selected staff from both classroom and residential teams to support enhanced communication, problem solving and working together, together with responsive (unplanned) reflective sessions have been running. Both groups provide a safe space for staff to talk about issues they are experiencing within the workplace. The sessions encourage staff to use personal experience to talk through ideas and problem solve.

Benefit
We learned that around 50 staff have already benefited from these groups, Treloar’s has received lots of positive comments and feedback from staff who feel they have a safe space to share feelings:
I myself found this very useful, having someone to talk to. It was good to be listened to, and hear how the other staff felt.
