Update
Last year The Hospital Saturday Fund helped fund towards some specialist chairs for particular residents at The Chaseley Trust. Jodie Cornford, their new Fundraising Manager , shared this picture of Pip, who is one of their residents, benefitting from the Chair and a quote from one of their physiotherapists:
We are very grateful to have received these chairs for our residents to use. For all our residents, posture is quite important as improper posture can lead to a lot of secondary complications. These chairs have helped residents immensely with the ability to sit with increased comfort and a better posture. Pip can now sit with elevated legs with the health benefits including improved blood circulation, reducing swelling of the ankles and feet. Caregivers are pleased with Pip’s progress and were happy with the improved safety of Pip in this chair due to her tremors. The improvement in her sitting is facilitating a better feeding position. Overall, this chair has enabled Pip’s ability to engage better in the activities of daily living and has improved the quality of her life.
