Launch of new helicopter
We received the exciting news that Cornwall Air Ambulance launched their new helicopter on 1 April 2020. We were delighted to be able to contribute towards the purchase of this helicopter, especially as the crew are playing a vital part in the NHS’s Covid-19 response, being tasked to individuals with critical care needs.
Ongoing impact of this new helicopter
Over the next 20 years, Cornwall Air Ambulance conservatively estimate that 20,000 adults and children will receive emergency critical care and transfer to hospital with the help of this new helicopter.
The very first morning of service, the crew and new aircraft took off on their first missions, attending two back-to-back critical incidents across the county – something which may not have been possible in the past, due to the new helicopter’s extra range and fuel capacity. Despite the ‘lockdown’, missions continue to be exceptionally busy.
